Lough Corrib is the biggest lake in Ireland and is known world wide for its wild brown trout and salmon fishing.
It also contains some Pike and perch. No licence required for trout fishing A trout limit of 4 per person per day.
Fly fishing is most popular during April /May. The Mayfly fishing attracts many anglers to Oughterard and is advisable to book early in advance.
Trolling and spinning and also allowed .
Michael at Corrib Wave has his own boats engines for hire.
Boat & engine ( takes 3 persons) 45 euro per day plus petrol.
Boat only 30 euro per day ( You may use your own engine if you wish )
An experienced boatman (At a reasonable cost ) can be arranged to take you out if you are not too experienced with a boat & engine.
